10th Mediterranean Film Festival Split will be held from 8th to 17th of June 2017 on three well-known locations, open-air cinema Bacvice and cinema Zlatna Vrata, as well as the balcony of the Tesla cinema which will have free screenings.

Mediterranean Film Festival Split has become one of the best and most popular cultural events on the Adriatic coast and its positive spirit has been recognized by more than 100.000 visitors in the last 9 years. The reason are films from the Mediterranean region and their regional and Croatian premieres in Split since they cannot be seen in regular cinema distribution. The smell of hundred year old pines and the sound of the sea, the center of the beautiful UNESCO city, sandy beach and smiling faces having a good time…all that is a bonus during 10 days of the festival. It’s not unusual to see people trying to get an extra ticket in summer cinema Bacvice so you can see them sitting on a wall or on a beach towel, but that’s what gives this festival an authentic Mediterranean feeling. During the day the screenings take place in the beautiful cinema Zlatna Vrata (Golden Gate) situated in the center within the walls of Diocletian’s palace.

In addition to full-length films, great attention is also given to the programs of short films, guest performances by renowned local and foreign film workers, and the promotion of young authors who are increasingly choosing precisely FMFS as a place to promote their films. Educational program ”FilmInkubator” with a series of workshops and lectures intended to help young filmmakers, students and professionals, and all interested citizens are being held during the festival. Other than screenings, education and socializing with guests from industry, FMFS is also known for its parties in open-air cinema Bacvice, which are an ideal warm-up for the summer.
