In this post we will inform you on what to see and do if you’re in Split just for a day…

Split just for a day
The Riva Promenade

Marjan hill and Diocletian’s Palace

You can start the day by easy walk on Marjan hill. Marjan is main recreational center and green area in Split. Also Marjan hill offers several viewpoints. After, you can just stroll down to the old town. All the major sights that you should see are located in the old town. First of all you have to enter into the Diocletian’s Palace and its cellars. Palace is more than 1700 years old construction and that will leave you speechless. While exploring the palace you should also visit the Cathedral of Saint Domnius. Its world’s oldest cathedral, which is located within the walls of the palace. Besides that at the northern entrance to the palace you will see the imposing statue of Gregory of Nin, medieval Croatian bishop. You should rub his big toe because it means good luck and most importantly you will come back in Split.

Riva and Restaurants

When you get hungry, go to the some iconic restaurants of Split. There you can get a very delicious dalmatian homemade food at very good prices. Where to have a good meal in Split you can find here. After a good meal you should take a walk across the Riva, main promenade in Split. Its present appearance in the early 19th century, in the period of the French rule. Riva is the main place in Split for relaxation, walking, drinking coffee but also a venue for various cultural, sports and entertaining events. If you are in Split just for a day, sit in one of the many cafes for a cup of coffee and experience something we call ‘fjaka’. Fjaka specific state of mind where all the problems are far away and time stops just for you to enjoy…

Hotel Globo Split, with its exceptional location, is an ideal choice for your accommodation to experience Split just in one day!
